This part time programme qualifies students to teach children aged between birth and 12 years. The programme consists of six modules - Montessori Theory and Methodology, Montessori Internship, Special Education, Psychology, Cultural Studies and Irish. Each module is taken at Stages 1, 2 & 3. Students accumulate credits with each module over a minimum period of 5 years. The programme is available in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Omagh.

Programme Content
YEAR 1: Stage 1 Montessori Theory, Methodology and Internship, (birth to 6 years). One module at stage 1 of either Psychology, Special Education, Cultural Studies/Irish (offered in rotation).
YEAR 2: Stage 2 Montessori Theory, Methodology and Internship, (6 to 9 years). One module at stage 1 of either Psychology, Special Education, Cultural Studies/Irish (offered in rotation).
YEAR 3: Stage 3 Montessori Theory, Methodology and Internship, (9 to 12 years). One module at stage 1 of either Psychology, Special Education, Cultural Studies/Irish (offered in rotation).
The following modules may be taken in a minimum of two subsequent years.
YEAR 4: Stage 2 Psychology, Special Education and Irish/Cultural Studies
YEAR 5: Stage 3 in Psychology, Special Education and Irish/Cultural Studies
N.B. Programmes will be offered only when a minimum of 12 students register for each module. We guarantee that all Stage 2 and 3 Modules will be available in Dun Laoghaire, Friday evenings and Saturdays. Students taking Irish are required to spend one week in the Gaeltacht per year of study.

As Bachelor or Arts in Montessori Education except that applicants must be 19 years of age on or before December 31 of the year of entry.
