The first Paul Condell scholarship was awarded to Ms Hayley Gilmore this week. The scheme provides that a Graduate of the Level 6 Early Childhood Care and Education programme in Killester College of Further Education can secure advanced entry onto Saint Nicholas Montessori College Ireland (SNMCI) Level 7 Bachelor of Arts in Montessori Education without incurring programme fees.
Ian McKenna, Director, SNMCI stated:
“I am delighted to announce that the first recipient of the Paul Condell Scholarship is Hayley Gilmore. Halyley displayed commitment to the vision and ideal of this scheme. Paul’s core philosophy was that each person has a role to play within society and a key enabler is education. Paul was committed to inclusive education practice in every sense and I know that Hayley will do justice to the scholarship.”
Ian McKenna went on to say:
“I would like to thank the staff in Killester College of Further Education, where Paul spent many years. When I first raised this with Rory O’ Sullivan, Principal, I was delighted with the support from Rory and everybody within the college. I would like to thank in particular Joan Donelan, Career Guidance Counsellor and her colleagues in the Early Years Department, who have encouraged their students to participate in the scheme.”
The Paul Condell Scholarship will be available to the 2018 Level 6 Graduate in Early Childhood Care and Education in Killester College.
