All graduands must attend in appropriate academic costume. On behalf of our graduands the college has secured the services of an Academic Robe Company to ensure that all epitogues/hoods for the validating body are assigned correctly. Academic dress must be hired from the official robemakers to the College, Phelan Conan & Associates, who are in attendance at all conferring ceremonies. Cost of hiring academic dress is €40. Graduands must book gown hire on-line at: www.phelanconan.com. Please note that all robes must be booked at least three weeks in advance of the ceremony.
This year’s graduation will take place on 16th October 2009 in the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire at 6.30 p.m.
Graduands should arrive at least 2 hours prior to the ceremony. Each graduand must be robed in the appropriate academic gown and will then be asked to assemble thirty minutes prior to the commencement of the ceremony in the assembly area. We would ask that Graduands do not enter the Hall at this stage.
Members of staff will organise graduands in the correct order for joining the academic procession, for seating during the ceremony and for receipt of parchments. Please co-operate with the staff during this process.
We would ask guests to be seated at least thirty minutes prior to the commencement of the ceremony and there will be staff present to assist all guests. Graduands should contact the College if any of their guests have a disability or require special arrangements and the College will endeavour to facilitate their requirements.
Graduands are issued with a ticket for two guests, which is required for entry to the Hall on conferring day. There is a strict limit on numbers and only those with tickets will be permitted to enter the hall.
Dermot Byrne Photography will be in attendance after the Ceremony. You will be able to get booking forms from a member of staff when you arrive for robing. Photographs will be taken after the Ceremony. Please allow for at least 1½ hours for all graduands to be photographed. We would ask for your patience in this matter.
