Bachelor of Arts in Montessori Education ACCS Mode

This part time course educates students to teach children aged between birth and 12 years.  The course consists of six modules - Montessori Theory, Montessori Methodology, Montessori Internship, Special Education, Psychology, Cultural Studies and Irish.  Each module is taken in years 1, 2 & 3.  Students accumulate credits with each module over a minimum period of 5 years.  The course is available in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Omagh.

 

Course Content

Year 1     Stage 1    Montessori Theory, Methodology and Internship (birth to 6 years)  One module at Level 1 of  either Psychology, Special Education, Cultural Studies/Irish (offered in rotation)

Year 2     Stage 2    Montessori Theory, Methodology and Internship (6 to 9 years) One module at Level 1
of either Psychology, Special Education, Cultural Studies/Irish (offered in rotation)

Year 3     Stage 3    Montessori Theory, Methodology and Internship (9 to 12 years)  One module at Level 1
of  either Psychology, Special Education, Cultural Studies/Irish (offered in rotation)

The following modules may be taken in a minimum of two subsequent years


Stage 2            Psychology, Special Education
                       and Cultural Studies/Irish

Stage 3            Psychology, Special Education
                       and Cultural Studies/Irish

Entry Requirements

As B.A. in Montessori Education except that applicants must be 19 years of age on or before December 31 of the year of entry.
