International Students

Applications are invited from all students, regardless of education system, for entry to our programmes. While it is difficult to provide exact entry requirements for each country, the below guidelines can be referenced to ascertain eligibility for study at SNMCI.

Students wishing to pursue the BA degree course need to have completed high school and obtained grades equivalent to two A levels at Grade “C” and four GCSE’s which must include English and Maths.

Students must also demonstrate that their language proficiency is suitable for such a programme if coming from a country where English is not the first language. English language requirements can be seen here.[/wpspoiler]

[wpspoiler name=”BA (Hons) in Montessori Education”]

Students wishing to apply to the BA (Hons) course are required to have obtained at least a Merit grade in the colleges leve 7 BA course

Students must also demonstrate that their language proficiency is suitable for such a programme if coming from a country where English is not the first language. English language requirements can be seen here[/wpspoiler]

[wpspoiler name=”Higher Diploma in Arts in Early Childhood Montessori Education”]

Students wishing to enter the Higher Diploma course should hold a primary degree with a minimum overall grade of a second class honours degree.

Learners wishing to apply to the course using RPL and or RPEL must inform the College at the time of application. Further details on the requirements and processes for RPL and RPEL can be found here

Students from all education systems are eligible for admission and the UK A Levels are used for comparison purposes only.

Recognition of Prior Learning:

Learners wishing to apply to the course using RPL or RPEL must inform the College at the time of application. Further details on the requirements & processes for RPL & RPEL can be found here

Interview:

Applicants will be required to present for interview, the purpose of which is to make them aware of the nature and expectations of the programmes. Applicants are welcome to ask staff members on hand any questions they might have about the programme. They will be contacted in advance by letter and given a clear outline of what the interview will entail. Applicants are requested to provide certain documentation (such as completed Garda Vetting Form, transcripts, references etc.) All applicants are informed of the outcome within two weeks of the interview. This is weighted on 50/50 basis with the Leaving Certificate.

Garda Vetting:

Applicants are requested to fill out a Garda Vetting form prior to admission onto the course. Forms will be provided by the College and are to be returned to the College in original format.
