St Nicholas Montessori College Ireland (SNMCI) has been synonymous with the training of Montessori teachers for the past 40 years. It is located in Dun Laoghaire, Cork, and Limerick.
SNMCI has 4 programmes of higher education, all of which are accredited by the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI). They are:
Level 6: Higher Certificate in Arts in Early Childhood Montessori Education
Level 7: Bachelor of Arts in Montessori Education
Level 8: Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Montessori Education;
Level 8: Higher Diploma in Arts in Early Childhood Montessori Education
The programmes are provided on a full-time and part-time basis.

Level 8 (Bachelor of Arts (Honours) In Montessori Education)
Location: Dún Laoghaire, Dublin, Ireland

Contract Term: Permanent
The College currently accommodates 200 full-time and part-time learners. Of these, about 40 are pursuing the Level 8 Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Montessori Education. SNMCI is now looking to appoint a Programme Director for this programme. In addition to delivering lectures in the field of special education, the principal duties for this key management position are:
(a) Manage the day to day operation of the programme;
(b) Co-ordinate the annual and on-going monitoring of the programme, the evaluation, both internal and external, of the programme;
(c) Manage and co-ordinate the activities of the academic staff within the programme, ensuring, inter alia, that they are familiar with the rules and regulations relating to their teaching function;
(d) Liaise with out-centres as appropriate to ensure consistency of learning experiences in all locations where the programme is being delivered;
(e) Co-ordinate the programme assessment schedule;
(f) Ensure sufficiency of resources (materials, books, publications, equipment etc) to enable the efficient delivery of the programme;
(g) Lead related programme reviews and programme development;
(h) Actively engage in research, promoting and supporting the research culture within the College;
(i) Ensure programme compliance with SMNCI’s Quality Assurance policy;
(j) Any other matters as may be assigned by the Director of Academic Affairs or the Director;
The candidate should have a minimum of a Master’s Degree (Level 9 on the Irish NFQ) in Education, with a particular emphasis on special education and/or primary education. Candidates should be research active, and should be familiar with senior academic management processes in a higher education institution, including quality enhancement processes.
The salary scale for this position is €42,858 to €59,857.
